Privacy Policy

Sky OS (“Sky,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is a desktop app for your projects. Project folders become desktop spaces where your files, websites and AI work together. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

The short version: your projects stay on your Mac. Our servers hold your account and nothing else. We don't sell your data to anyone.

Your account— when you sign up, we store your username, your email address and a password. The password is stored only as a hash by our authentication provider, so we never see it. If you add a name to your profile, we store that too. We use this to sign you in, to send you a welcome email and password-reset codes, and to contact you about Sky.

Access requests— if you request access on our website, we store the answers you give in that form: your email, and optionally your name, the tools you use, your role and what you plan to use Sky for. We also record the page that referred you and your browser's user-agent string. We use this only to decide who to invite and to contact you about Sky.

That is everything on our servers. Your spaces, files, notes, settings and AI conversations are not uploaded to us.

To find bugs and understand which parts of Sky are used, the app sends us two kinds of technical data.

Usage events— which features are used and when, together with the app version. These events are linked to your account so we can tell how many people use a feature, not just how often it is clicked. They never include file names, file contents, page contents, URLs you visit, or anything you type.

Crash reports— if Sky crashes, it sends the error, a stack trace, the app version and your operating system version so we can fix it.

We believe in collecting only what we need. Sky does not collect:

• Your project folders or the files inside them
• Your notes, layouts or settings
• Your conversations with Claude or Codex
• Your browsing history or the websites you visit
• Contents of web pages you view
• Keystrokes, form inputs, or passwords
• Screen recordings or screenshots
• Location data
• Contacts or address book information

Everything you make in Sky lives on your device. Your spaces are ordinary folders on your Mac. Layouts, window arrangements, settings and preferences are stored locally and never sent to our servers.

Removing Sky does not touch your project folders. Sky's own settings live in your user Library, where you can delete them along with the app.

Sky opens websites and web apps inside your spaces. Those apps operate under their own privacy policies, just as they would in any browser. Sky does not modify, intercept or monitor the data exchanged between you and those services.

We use the following services to operate Sky:

• Convex — the database that holds your account and access requests
• Anthropic and OpenAI — when you use AI features, Sky talks to Claude or Codex through your own account, and their terms and privacy policies apply
• Mixpanel — usage events from the app
• Sentry — crash reports from the app
• Resend — delivers our emails to you, including invites and password-reset codes; it receives your email address for that purpose
• Vercel — hosts this website and provides anonymous, cookie-free analytics

The Sky desktop app does not use cookies for tracking. Our website (skyos.computer) uses only essential cookies required for basic functionality. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. The demo video is embedded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode; once you press play, YouTube may store data in your browser under its own policy.

Account data is stored in encrypted infrastructure and travels over encrypted connections. Passwords are hashed. Your spaces and files stay on your Mac. No method of electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We keep your account for as long as it is active. If you delete your account, we remove your data from our servers within 30 days. Usage events and crash reports are kept only as long as we need them to improve Sky.

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data at any time, and to send you a copy of everything we hold about you.

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will let you know through the app or by email. Continued use of Sky after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
